Volvo cars India launched its all-electric car XC40 Recharge in the Indian markets in July 2022 and has now provided the car with a major upgrade in its new models XC40 and C40. This update focuses on bringing more power, a rear-wheel drive package, and an extended range. Further, Volvo has planned to launch its all-new SUV C40 in the Indian markets by 2023. These new models launched by Volvo in international markets now have even more powerful and bigger battery back-up along with a rear-wheel drive setup which makes it more efficient as a powertrain.
Everything you need to know about the upgrades and latest news regarding Volvo:
- The new version will now come with an increased range in a single-motor setup. The updated XC40 is up from 460 Km, and C40 is up from 476 Km.
- Both C40 and XC40 now have got faster-charging rates ranging from up to 200 KW, which now charges the SUV from 10 percent to 80 percent in not more than 10 minutes, which earlier used to take around 27 minutes.
- The Twin variant of this electric model now gets two different electric motors- 163 Hp in the front and 245 Hp in the rear. There is a clear increase in the power in these variants which now makes up to 238 hp which earlier amounted to 231 hp. Even after this, these models retain the same level of output when the whole model is taken into account. The total overall output amounts to 408 hp.
- Along with all this news Volvo has even decided to back out of the existing plug-in hybrid vehicles models (PHEVs) which they claim to be in favour of EVs.
