Tata Motors has begun delivering the Tiago EV hatchback all over India. In the first batch, 2,000 units were sent to 133 cities. So far, the company says that it has gotten more than 20,000 orders for the Tiago EV. The first 10,000 orders came in on the first day.

Tata said when the Tiago EV was first released that the introductory prices would only apply to the first 10,000 orders. But Tata was so surprised by how many people wanted to buy that it kept the introductory prices for another 10,000 customers. Prices for the Tiago EV range from Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom, India) right now, but they are soon going to go up as more people book them.

The battery packs for the Tiago EV come in two sizes: 19.2kWh and 24kWh. The brand is sending out the bigger battery versions first, and the smaller battery versions will start going out at the end of February.

Dealer sources say that the Tiago EV long range has a four-month wait time, while the medium range has a five- to six-month wait time. The most popular paint colours, according to dealer sources, are “Tropical Mist” and “Teal Blue.” On the other hand, it takes about a month for private buyers to get a Tigor EV sedan.

Tata’s Ziptron high-voltage architecture powers the Tiago EV, and as we’ve already said, it has two battery packs. The smaller battery gives the Tiago EV 61hp and 110Nm of power, while the bigger battery gives it 74hp and 114Nm.

The base models of the Tiago EV have a smaller battery pack, which gives them a MIDC range of 250 km. The higher models, on the other hand, have a bigger battery, which gives them a MIDC range of 315 km. The Tiago EV can also be charged quickly, and with a 50kW fast charger, both battery packs can be charged from 10% to 80% in 57 minutes.

Tata said at the 2023 Auto Expo that it will release nine new cars and SUVs by 2025. These will include both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) models. The Tiago EV Blitz is one of these nine cars. It gets some cosmetic upgrades inside and out and will be released in FY2024.
