On January 6, 2023, Mercedes-AMG will release the E53 Cabriolet 4Matic+ in India. It will come to India as a CBU. The AMG four-seat convertible will have a mild-hybrid straight six turbo-petrol engine. When it comes out, it will be the fourth “53” AMG model in India, after the E 53 sedan, the GLE 53 coupe-SUV, and the EQS 53 EV sedan.
The E 53 Cabriolet is basically the two-door, four-seat convertible version of the E 53 sedan. It also comes in an AMG version that is sold all over the world. This is not the first time Mercedes has brought an open-top version of the E-Class to India. The previous generation introduced in 2010 and updated in 2015. This time, Mercedes will bring the AMG version to India, which is more powerful.
The cabriolet has the same 435 horsepower, 3.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine as the E 53 sedan and GLE 53 coupe-SUV. It also has an integrated starter generator that adds 21 hp and 249 Nm of torque. It also has AMG’s Ride Control+ air suspension and Dynamic Select driving modes.
A 9-speed automatic transmission sends the power to all four wheels. Mercedes says that the E53 Cabriolet can go from 0 to 100 in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph that is controlled electronically.
The Mercedes-AMG E 53 Cabriolet gets AMG-specific upgrades like a signature grille and a new front splitter. This brings its front end design in line with other AMG models.
The basic layout of the interior is the same as in the sedan version. The chunky, flat-bottomed AMG steering wheel and the large, dual 12.3-inch instrument and infotainment screens stand out. The E53 Cabriolet comes with a wireless phone charger, a Burmester sound system, and ambient lighting, among other things. It also has an air scarf, which keeps the necks of the people in the front seats warm.
When it comes out, the E53 Cabriolet won’t have any direct competitors in India. Mercedes-Benz will talk about its plans for India’s future at the conference. The E53 Cabriolet will also be shown off at the conference.
