Lately, it’s probably the Indian market only in which we are witnessing a few rebadged Maruti Suzuki cars as well as Toyota. For instance, Toyota Glanza-Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara-Toyota Hyryder, and now Innova HyCrosss-Invicto.

Overall, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto is the same as the Toyota Innova HyCross. A few changes here and there can be noticed, in terms of interior and exterior.

Further, the Maruti Invicto has only three variants with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 24.79 lakh. Yes, that makes it more expensive than the Toyota Innova HyCross, which has a starting price of Rs 18.55 lakh. But, it is tacit that you would get features at the Invicto’s price.

So, let’s see what the all-new Maruti Suzuki Invicto has to offer in terms of features and specifications. Let’s read on, then.

For starters, you should know that the Maruti Suzuki Invicto is based on the same platform as the Toyota Innova HyCross. It can only be had with strong hybrid technology plus it uses Toyota’s strong hybrid 2.0-litre (1987cc) petrol engine. As for the figures, this 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, petrol-hybrid engine is tuned to churn out 150 bhp at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 188 Nm at 4400 rpm. This is the output of the petrol engine. In parallel, the electric motor churns out 112 bhp at 4000 rpm with a peak torque of 206 Nm. The combined engine (electric motor + petrol engine) power is 183.72 bhp. This engine makes the front wheels spin via a standard e-CVT automatic gearbox.

As for fuel efficiency, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto’s mileage is rated at 23.24 km/l. Please note that this is an ARAI-rated mileage figure. It should be worth noting that the real-world mileage can vary with various factors, such as the local traffic conditions, engine and transmission combination and individuals’ driving styles.

Moreover, the battery used in this MUV is a Nickel Metal Hydride battery, which is placed under the front seats. The capacity of the battery is rated at 201.6 V.

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto has a fuel tank capacity of 52 litres.

Keeping the engine output aside, let’s now jump to the suspension setup of the Invicto. The front end of the MUV stands on a MacPherson Strut suspension, while the rear end stands on a torsion beam suspension. Please note that the MUVs are supposed to offer comfort, due to which, their suspension setups are tuned on the soft side. For your reference, a soft-tuned suspension can absorb the bumps from potholes with ease and can sail through the undulations without letting the passenger(s) jostle. At the same time, the braking duties are taken care of by dual-disc brakes. These disc brakes can be seen through the alloy wheels, which are standard across the variants. Further, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto runs on 17-inch rims and has a tyre profile of 215/60 R17. This tyre profile will most likely make it disproportionate, especially considering the size of the car. This is the same case with the Toyota Innova HyCross.

The Maruti Invicto’s price, which starts from Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom), a customer would expect a generous number of features. For your reference, most of the features are also there in the Toyota Innova HyCross. So, as for offerings, this MUV has a standard fabric and optional leatherette upholstery, a leather-wrapped gear knob, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, standard captain seats (7 STR) and optional bench (8 STR), and cup holders (front and rear).

Further, it offers power windows (all), one-touch up-down (driver only), electrically adjustable ORVMs, a rear wiper, standard manually-operated anti-glare IRVM (optional auto-dimming IRVM), and a reverse camera (optional 360-degree camera). Moreover, the Invicto has cruise control, a 12V accessory socket, an adjustable steering wheel (tilt and telescopic), standard auto HVAC, standard cup holders (with heating/cooling functions), and a speed-sensing door lock.0

The panoramic sunroof, however, is limited to its topmost variant. Last, but not the least, this MUV also offers standard ambient lighting.

Besides that, the Maruti Suzuki cars also packs a fully digital instrument cluster that houses relevant readings, such as speed, RPM, clock, range, mileage, average speed, door-ajar warning, low fuel level, etc. It also packs an adjustable cluster brightness.

For entertainment, it has a standard 8-inch and an optional 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This MUV also offers voice command, USB and auxiliary ports, Bluetooth, and steering-mounted controls.

As far as exterior lighting is concerned, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto has LED DRLs, LED taillights and LED headlights.

On the safety front, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto is equipped with six airbags as standard, a tyre pressure monitoring system, child-seat anchorages, and seat belt warnings. In addition, it is also a mobile app connectivity. The owner will have to install the concerned app for the vehicle and then the user can access the vehicle’s status. Once accessed, the user can check the live location, geo-fence, last parked location, upcoming service(s), and OTA updates and can use other features like remote HVAC controls, remote car lock/unlock, remote sunroof open/close, and remote car light flashing and honking. It can all be done via the app. This vehicle also boasts Alexa compatibility.

Further, it has ABS with EBD, ESP, hill-hold control, automatic emergency braking (AEB), and hill-descent control.
