Lately, it’s probably the Indian market only in which we are witnessing a few rebadged Maruti Suzuki cars as well as Toyota. For instance, Toyota Glanza-Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara-Toyota Hyryder, and now Innova HyCrosss-Invicto.
Overall, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto is the same as the Toyota Innova HyCross. A few changes here and there can be noticed, in terms of interior and exterior.
Further, the Maruti Invicto has only three variants with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 24.79 lakh. Yes, that makes it more expensive than the Toyota Innova HyCross, which has a starting price of Rs 18.55 lakh. But, it is tacit that you would get features at the Invicto’s price.
So, let’s see what the all-new Maruti Suzuki Invicto has to offer in terms of features and specifications. Let’s read on, then.
Specifications
For starters, you should know that the Maruti Suzuki Invicto is based on the same platform as the Toyota Innova HyCross. It can only be had with strong hybrid technology plus it uses Toyota’s strong hybrid 2.0-litre (1987cc) petrol engine. As for the figures, this 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, petrol-hybrid engine is tuned to churn out 150 bhp at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 188 Nm at 4400 rpm. This is the output of the petrol engine. In parallel, the electric motor churns out 112 bhp at 4000 rpm with a peak torque of 206 Nm. The combined engine (electric motor + petrol engine) power is 183.72 bhp. This engine makes the front wheels spin via a standard e-CVT automatic gearbox.
As for fuel efficiency, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto’s mileage is rated at 23.24 km/l. Please note that this is an ARAI-rated mileage figure. It should be worth noting that the real-world mileage can vary with various factors, such as the local traffic conditions, engine and transmission combination and individuals’ driving styles.
Moreover, the battery used in this MUV is a Nickel Metal Hydride battery, which is placed under the front seats. The capacity of the battery is rated at 201.6 V.
The Maruti Suzuki Invicto has a fuel tank capacity of 52 litres.
Keeping the engine output aside, let’s now jump to the suspension setup of the Invicto. The front end of the MUV stands on a MacPherson Strut suspension, while the rear end stands on a torsion beam suspension. Please note that the MUVs are supposed to offer comfort, due to which, their suspension setups are tuned on the soft side. For your reference, a soft-tuned suspension can absorb the bumps from potholes with ease and can sail through the undulations without letting the passenger(s) jostle. At the same time, the braking duties are taken care of by dual-disc brakes. These disc brakes can be seen through the alloy wheels, which are standard across the variants. Further, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto runs on 17-inch rims and has a tyre profile of 215/60 R17. This tyre profile will most likely make it disproportionate, especially considering the size of the car. This is the same case with the Toyota Innova HyCross.
