Maruti Suzuki intends to introduce the 5-door Jimny, its off-road car, in June 2023. Prior to the vehicle’s formal release, the business began producing it, and the first one has already left its plant in Gurugram, Haryana. The car will be produced in 100,000 units annually, according to the brand. The Jimny 5-Door has been accepting reservations for the previous four months, and a sizable number of reservations have already been made for the car.

There are a lot of expectations for the upcoming launch of the Jimny from India’s leading automaker. The Suzuki AllGrip Pro 4×4 system will be included, and the Jimny will be built on a ladder frame chassis. It will be propelled by a Maruti Suzuki 1.5-liter K15B smart hybrid petrol engine, which is renowned for its outstanding fuel economy. The engine will have a maximum output of 105 horsepower and 134.2 pound-feet of torque, and it will be mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter.

The Jimny has larger proportions than other vehicles on the road, measuring 3,985mm in length, 1,645mm in width, 1,720mm in height, and 2,590mm for its wheelbase. Nine colour variations will be available for the 5-door Jimny, including seven monotone choices like Nexa Blue, Bluish Black, Sizzling Red, Granite Grey, and Pearl Arctic White, as well as two dual-tone choices like Kinetic Yellow and Sizzling Red with a Bluish Black roof.

Six airbags, dark green glass, an electronic outside rearview mirror, controls positioned on the steering wheel, LED headlights, headlamp washer, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, and an Arkamys sound system will all be standard on the Jimny. There will be a MID and circular analogue dials in the instrument cluster in the cabin. Better front visibility will be provided by the compact dashboard.

Maruti Jimny Competition in the Market?

The Jimny’s price range is projected to be between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom), leaving it without any direct competitors when it debuts. However, it will compete with vehicles like the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha due to its price, placement, and off-road capability.
