On July 10, 2023, Hyundai India will officially introduce the Exter SUV in India. Up to this point, Hyundai has partially unveiled the Exter’s design as well as its powertrain lineup and some of its characteristics. Hyundai’s smallest SUV for India, the Exter, will be positioned below the Venue.

Hyundai Exter deliveries will start before the end of July

Dealers inform us that the first Exter units will likely reach consumers by the third or fourth week of July. Exter reservations are already in full swing. A sizable portion of consumers chose the Exter’s higher models with the automatic transmission option. Dealers warn us, however, that when prices are revealed, bookings and the variant split are likely to change since customers often alter their preferences and choose a model that is more affordable.

Hyundai Exter adopts a tall SUV style

Hyundai has partially teased the Exter, but earlier spy images have already shown the finished product. Split headlamps, an upright nose and a tailboard with a slightly sloped rear glass area give it boxy proportions.

The smallest SUV from Hyundai has strong cladding all along with round and slightly flared wheel arches in profile. Roof rails, elegant dual-tone alloy wheels, a textured C-pillar finish, and dual-tone paint options with a floating roof effect are all available. Hyundai is still withholding information regarding the Exter’s interior.

Hyundai Exter receives a 1.2-litre engine with petrol and CNG

Both a CNG option and a 1.2-liter petrol engine will be available for the Exter. On the petrol, you may choose between a five-speed manual and an AMT automatic transmission, but the CNG only has a manual gearbox. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the Exter, and the Aura all use the same platform.

Five trim levels of the Exter will be available: EX, S, SX, SX(O), and the highest-spec SX(O) Connect. Additionally, all trims come standard with six airbags, while higher variations include more distinctive features like dual cameras and a single-pane sunroof.

Competitors of the Hyundai Exter in India

The Tata Punch and the Citroen C3 are two of the Exter’s main competitors. While the Exter’s price is yet unknown, it is guaranteed that the tiny SUV will offer more amenities and equipment than its competitors.
