Ather has made its one millionth electric scooter, a True Red 450X, which has just rolled off the assembly line at its new Hosur plant. The company reached 25,000 and 50,000 units of production in March and May of last year, respectively.

Ather Energy has also increased the number of public charging stations for the Ather Grid from 580 in October to 885 in India today. The Bengaluru-based start-up has plans to grow from its current 56 stores in 50 cities to 120 showrooms in 95 cities by the end of FY2023. In December 2022, it opened 14 showrooms, including ones in Noida, Nellore, Karimnagar, Udupi, Kottayam, and Shivamogga.

Ather also released the second edition of its annual review report, “Ather in 2022,” in January 2023. The report was full of statistics, and the highlight was that its e-scooters had travelled more than 389 million kilometres last year, which helped cut CO2 emissions by 5,631 tonnes.

One of the many things they found was that scooters in Tier-II cities travel farther on average every day, with Secunderabad at the top of the list. The total distance that Ather users had gone in Reverse Assist was 81,197km, which was an interesting fact.

Ather Energy is making more sales because it is getting better supplies to its showrooms all over the country. With steady income from its second factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, the company is now ready for the future. The new plant employs 1,600 people and is twice as big as the first one. It has two lines for making cars and three lines for making batteries.
