Skoda has officially announced that the long-awaited Skoda Kushaq mid-sized SUV is going to launch within the Indian market on June 28, 2021. The corporate also said that the bookings will commence on an equivalent date because the launch; however, Skoda dealers have unofficially started accepting pre-orders at a token amount of Rs 10,000.
Skoda already confirmed that the deliveries for the new Kushaq commence from July 2021. This may the brand’s second launch in June, because the new Octavia introduced on June 10, 2021. So, the Skoda Kushaq will mark the debut of Volkswagen Group’s new MQB AO IN platform. This also underpins the soon to launch VW Taigun.
Variants and colors
In a recent development, Skoda has informed that the Kushaq are going to be launched in India in three variants – Active, Ambition and elegance . The Czech carmaker also announced that there’ll be a choice of 5 color options. The sort of Honey Orange, Candy White, Brilliant Silver, steel and Tornado Red.
Skoda Kushaq interior and other features
The cabin design is in line with the newer Skodas on sale in international markets. With a layered dash and a free-standing touchscreen sitting on a shelf-like design element atop the centre console, a two-spoke steering design and enormous vertically positioned rectangular side air-con vents.
There will be many kit on offer too with fully-loaded models packing during a large 10-inch touchscreen, connected car tech, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, in-car Wi-Fi and a sunroof to call a couple of . Safety kit will include six airbags, auto headlamps and wipers, a multi-collision braking system, tyre pressure monitor and hill start assist. All variants also will come fitted with ESC as standard.
Expected Pricing and Rivals
The Skoda Kushaq are going to be the primary model under the brand’s India 2.0 strategy. The new mid-size SUV are going to be Made-in-India which can help the brand to cost it aggressively. Prices for the Kusaq are expected to start out at around Rs 10 lakh, ex-showroom. At the time of launch the Kushaq will go up against the favored Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, MG Hector and Tata Harrier. Also joining the list of rivals are going to be its sister car, the VW Taigun. Which is predicted to arrive within the coming months.
